We’ve had a makeover but we need your help to finish it off…
Staff at the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre have not been idle over the last year while the centre has been closed to visitors. As well as maintaining as many services as possible using other media (telephone and video), they have been overseeing a bit of a makeover for the centre.
“The centre hasn’t been decorated since about 2007,” said a spokesperson for the LJMC. “With a footfall of several thousand visitors a year, it was looking a little tired so we were really pleased to channel some of our creative energy into this makeover.”
The drop-in area, relaxation room and clinic rooms have been redecorated and new flooring laid to meet stringent infection control measures.
Macmillan Cancer Support have generously kick-started the appeal to fund the new furniture we need to meet these measures but we need to raise a further £12,000. Please will you help us by making a donation?
£50 will buy a side table for the relaxation room
£100 will go towards the cost of a fully adjustable reclining chair for relaxation classes (these cost £600 each)
£220 will buy a comfortable tub chair for the drop-in area
£700 will buy a massage couch for our complementary therapy service
Any donation towards this appeal will be gratefully received. Donations may be made online or by cash/cheque. Please let us know that your donation is for the Furniture Appeal. We will be pleased to acknowledge all donations on this website.
