2012
Congratulations to Matt Shute and Peter Jelley for taking part in the Virgin London Marathon

Matt Shute completed the London Marathon in 3:59:15 and raised more than £6,500 for the LJMC.

Peter Jelley also took part in aid of the LJMC.

Thank you to both runners for the amount of effort and training you put in to this amazing event, let alone the amount of money you managed to raise.

Avril Goodwin knitted 1,000 Easter chicks

Avril Goodwin (with a little help from her friends) knitted 1,000 Easter chicks which she filled with cream eggs to sell for the LJMC. She raised £2,000 and welcomes help with knitting even more of these bright birds next year! Supplies of wool welcome. Please get in touch with our Appeals team if you'd like to help.

Chris Ibbotson made a beautiful Simnel Cake at Easter which we used in Easter fundraising activities to raise £39.

Congratulations to Robert Ford who took part in the Silverstone Half Marathon

Robert Ford completed the Silverstone Half Marathon in 2:43:53 - congratulations! He raised nearly £1,000 in just three weeks.

Highgrove Marathon swimmers swim nearly 40 miles

The Highgrove Marathon swimmers raised £1,600. The swimmers, whose ages ranged from 20-something to 70+, exceeded their target to swim a combined distance of 38.9 miles, equivalent to 1,867 lengths of the pool.

Tracy Blake (Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant) and Amanda McDermott (Stella & Dot jewellery) organised as Open House event to introduce their new beautiful product ranges to friends, family and business colleagues. They raised £25.

Members of Ickenham Afternoon Townswomen's Guild's Music Group chose the LJMC as the charity to benefit from their annual garden party, presenting us with a substantial cheque for £1,000.

Deidre Malone undertoook a 800km walk from St Jean Pied de Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. She raised nearly £2,000.

A Golf Day at the Royal Household Golf Course at Windsor Castle at the beginning of September raised £170.

Northwood Open Gardens 2011 raised more than £700

A number of people supported the LJMC at the recent Northwood Open Gardens weekend. Thank you to Dr E Dangoor, Philip Simpson, Sharon Foster and Margaret McIntosh for choosing the LJMC as their special charity and for raising more than £1,700 for the centre.

Thank you also to Warren Reeves for organising such a brilliant event once more.

Windsor & Uxbridge Province of the RAOB chose the LJMC as their Charity of the Year

Members of the Windsor & Uxbridge Provincial Grand Lodge of the Grand Antediluvian Order of Buffaloeschose the LJMC as their Charity of the Year, raising a staggering £3,785 through a range of fundraising activities. Special thanks to Dave Wheatley for nominating the LJMC and well done to everyone for doing so well!

Staff at Bellway Homes in Ruislip hold a Dress Down Day each month, supporting a different charity each time. Last month it was the LJMC and they raised £114. Thank you to Amanda McAnrew who nominated the LJMC as their charity.

Abbots Langley Men's Club hosted Manchester City supporters who came down south for a recent match. Yvette Maitland and friends provided a buffet, asking for donations to the LJMC to raise £90.

Cheque presentation by NATO Headquarters

Staff at NATO Headquarters in Northwood continue to support the LJMC throughout the year with various fundraising activities.

LJMC Marketing Manager, Buzz Coster, was presented with a cheque for £1,500 by Commander-in-Chief Fleet of the Royal Navy, Admiral Sir Trevor Soar KCB OBE.

Gift wrapping at the Harlequin Centre

We were delighted to have the opportunity to provide a gift wrapping service in the Harlequin Centre, Watford just before Christmas. This was a very enjoyable, fun event which was also very profitable raising more than £560. Thank you to everyone who helped.

Cycle Ride by Cat Creed and friends

Cat Creed, together with friends and family undertook a 50-mile cycle ride round the Milton Keynes area in memory of her mother, Isabel. From the money raised they were able to make a donation of £340 to the centre.
