Radiotherapy Pre-Treatment Information Sessions

If you are having radiotherapy, you might like to come to an information session before your treatment starts.

Sessions are hosted by a healthcare professional and will give you an opportunity to:

  • familiarise yourself with the facilities available in the Cancer Centre

  • receive further information about radiotherapy (and chemotherapy if requested)

  • ask questions

  • find out more about the services at the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre

Information sessions are held at 2.30pm on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. We meet in the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre. Sessions last approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Whenever possible, we will try and include a mini-tour of the Cancer Centre so that you can see the radiotherapy equipment as well.

You are welcome to bring a friend or relative with you but please book a place for them as numbers are limited and we need to know how many people are coming.

Please call the Helpline (01923 844014) to book your place(s).

If you are unable to make one of the scheduled sessions, please call the Helpline and we will make an alternative appointment for you to visit the LJMC and view an information video which covers the same topics. You will also be able to ask any questions you may have on the same visit.

Please note that it is not possible to discuss diagnoses or arrange individual treatment appointments at these sessions.
